The main mission of the Outaouais menopause-andropause Center, which was founded in 2005, is to recognize the multiple benefits of sex hormones on human health and well-being.
The Outaouais menopause-andropause Center is a vocational clinic, a research facility, as well as an information provider.
We are sorry...
We are no longer accepting new patients
Dr Demers is no longer accepting new patients because she has a large client base. Since the publication of her best-seller
Hormones au féminin : Repensez votre santé (Les Éditions de l'Homme) in April 2008, the number of requests for medical consultations increased exponentially and became unmanageable.
Unfortunately, her book is not available in English. At the Centre, this was a hard decision for us to make. We are aware that we have disappointed many patients. In particular, several women have expressed their feelings of incomprehension, even anger, that they feel when they cannot find a physician to prescribe bio-identical female hormone therapy.
It is important to note that the multiple benefits of female hormones (17 β-estradiol and progesterone) are often unknown to physicians because, during our continuing professional education and in our medical journals, they are rarely mentioned and very rarely in a positive and clear manner.
What to do?
Try finding a physician who is open to bio-identical female hormone therapy. More and more physicians ask to be informed, and in many cases, due to requests from their patients.
Through your requests, you contribute directly to the advancement of knowledge because of the queries generated by more and more physicians. This is very healthy. Furthermore, perhaps you will find a physician who will prescribe bio-idential female hormones in accordance with art and science.
